The upcoming Blue Ribbon Run, now in its 10th year, is set to take place on the last Sunday of this month around the Boardman Lake Loop. Local business owner Tim Barrons initiated the event in memory of his father, aiming to raise awareness for prostate cancer. In addition to the run, there will be a gathering at Rightbrain Brewery on September 29th at 10 AM, welcoming those who wish to participate without running.

During the recent government meeting, city officials emphasized the importance of completing a readiness survey, with several city commissioners and department heads yet to submit their responses. The city manager will resend the survey link to ensure it is prioritized.

The city clerk announced several upcoming meetings, including a Joint Recreational Authority meeting on September 4th at 7 PM at the Cathedral Barn and a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on September 5th at 6 PM in the commission chambers. Additionally, there are various volunteer opportunities available on several boards and committees, including the Brown Bridge Advisory Committee and the Human Rights Commission.
