Aggie Freeman, the club president, along with other Rotary members, accepted recognition from the council. Freeman noted that the event was a community effort, attracting over 300 volunteers and more than 3,000 visitors. Daryl Cherff, the event chair, shared insights about the logistics, including a moving parade that escorted the wall into Merced, which involved over 190 motorcycles and 250 riders, showcasing strong community support.
Cherff also acknowledged the collaboration with local law enforcement and other agencies, which ensured the event's success. He expressed appreciation for the community's involvement, particularly during the wall's dismantling, where volunteer numbers surged from 15 to 75.
