In a recent government meeting, the commissioners discussed a petition from Shryvices to vacate a section of Newton Street and an adjacent alley in the Montague edition of Alvin County, Wyoming. Initially, the petition sought to vacate Carol Street as well, but following concerns raised by both County and City Planning regarding traffic connectivity, Shryvices amended their request to exclude Carol Street.
The proposed vacation encompasses an area measuring 80 feet by 284 feet along Newton Street, as well as a 20-foot by 264-foot alley in Block 48. The amendment, submitted by Anthony Valdez of Coffee Engineering and Survey, aligns with recommendations from the viewer's report and aims to facilitate the property owners' plans without impacting access to surrounding properties or traffic flow.
Commissioners noted that if the vacation is approved, the applicant will need to provide a new geographical survey of the vacated property, which must be completed by a licensed surveyor and recorded by the County Clerk. The commissioners also clarified that maintenance responsibilities for Newton Street and the alley would not fall to Baldwin County.
The commission is set to open a 30-day comment period for public objections to the petition. This step is crucial as it allows residents to voice any concerns before the commission moves forward with the approval process. The meeting concluded with a consensus to proceed with the petition, pending any objections raised during the comment period.
