Budget Cuts Spark Controversy Over Election Expenses

During a recent government meeting, budgetary adjustments and vehicle maintenance were key topics of discussion. One official reported a decrease in their budget by $14,000, primarily due to a reduction in election-related expenses, as no elections are scheduled for the upcoming year. The official clarified that the supplies budget was significantly cut from $16,000 to $450, reflecting this change.

Concerns were raised regarding discrepancies in the budget figures, particularly in the auditor's account, which showed a decrease of $1,150. The official acknowledged the need to review these figures for accuracy.

In addition to budget discussions, a request was made to surplus a 2017 Chevy Tahoe Patrol vehicle, which is currently out of service and requires a new motor. The vehicle was slated for rotation out of service with the arrival of new Durangos. Officials considered the possibility of selling the Tahoe on eBay, as it is deemed not worth further investment.
