During a recent council meeting, high school student Mackenzie Haynes presented her proposal for a McCall Kindness Campaign, aimed at promoting compassion and positivity within the community. The initiative, which aligns with National Kindness Month in September, seeks to encourage acts of kindness among residents and visitors alike.

Mackenzie, a lifelong resident of McCall and a student at McCall-Donnelly High School, expressed her passion for the project, emphasizing the importance of kindness in fostering a welcoming environment, especially in a town that attracts many tourists. She highlighted her intention to create a unique logo for the campaign and engage local businesses and peers to support and participate in the initiative.

The proposal received positive feedback from council members, who expressed their respect for Mackenzie’s initiative and willingness to support her efforts. Mackenzie concluded her presentation by seeking the council's approval to move forward with the campaign, envisioning it as a year-round effort to strengthen community bonds and inspire a culture of kindness in McCall.
