In a recent government meeting, officials provided updates on significant infrastructure projects in Fairfield, focusing on the Clay Bank and Manuel Campos road developments. The Clay Bank project, which commenced in the summer of 2024, is currently in the major excavation phase, with underground drainage piping installation underway. The city aims to complete asphalt and paving work by the end of this year, allowing the road to open for public use. Landscaping and final improvements are scheduled for spring 2025.
City officials emphasized the importance of the Manuel Campos extension, a critical thoroughfare on the northern side of the city. Although the project has faced delays, recent progress includes the activation of signalized intersections. Upcoming work will involve ensuring safe access for vehicles to the Solano Irrigation District water treatment plant, with construction expected to begin later this summer and continue into early spring.
Additionally, plans are in place to underground overhead utility lines, enhancing the roadway's infrastructure. The completion of the Manuel Campos roadway, which will feature four lanes and bike paths, is anticipated by summer 2025. City representatives expressed optimism about these developments, highlighting their potential to improve traffic flow and connectivity for residents.
