The meeting also addressed a significant 20% increase in the operating budget for the pier, attributed to a one-time expense of $750,000 for events celebrating its five-year anniversary. Chris Balestra from city development explained that this increase includes unanticipated tax revenues and expenses related to maintenance and repairs, including issues with doors and bathrooms at the pier, which have been exacerbated by environmental factors.

Additionally, the budget includes $100,000 for master planning around the Mahaffey Dali Museum, indicating ongoing efforts to enhance cultural infrastructure in the area.
