In a recent government meeting, the Cartwright District celebrated the achievements of local students and highlighted community initiatives aimed at fostering youth development.
Brian Euclase, a recent graduate of Maryville High School, was recognized for his outstanding academic performance, finishing in the top 1% of his class with a remarkable 4.7 GPA. He has been accepted into several prestigious institutions, including Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona. Additionally, Brian is a recipient of the Obama Scholarship and the Azie Allis Scholarship. His commitment to community service was evident as he volunteered at John F. Long, engaging with fifth graders about high school preparation and even treating them to pizza.
The meeting also featured a commendation for Supervisor Steve Gallardo, who announced the continuation of a free sports clinic for students in grades 5 through 8. Scheduled to run from June 4 to July 27 at Mark Teague Atkinson, the clinic aims to provide valuable sports training and engagement for local youth. The initiative, now in its second year, has received positive feedback from parents and is seen as a significant opportunity for community involvement and support for young scholars.
The Cartwright District expressed pride in its students and gratitude for community leaders like Supervisor Gallardo, emphasizing the importance of such programs in enriching the lives of local youth.
