Brenda George, co-founder of New Birth Church and the STOP organization, presented a proposal at a recent government meeting to establish a community support center in the city of Klute, Texas. The initiative aims to expand the church's outreach beyond traditional services, providing essential resources for troubled youth and families in need.
STOP, which has already impacted over 120,000 children across four states, focuses on assisting youth facing challenges such as suicidal ideation. George emphasized the need for a dedicated space that would offer counseling services, a food pantry, and clothing assistance, addressing the needs of those who may lack basic resources.
The proposed center, referred to as the Glory Center for New Birth, seeks to create a supportive environment for individuals facing hardships, including those struggling to find employment or secure transportation. George highlighted the church's history of fostering children and helping them achieve educational success, including assisting a graduate who is now an engineer.
During the meeting, there were no objections raised against the specific use permit for the center. George outlined the operational hours, indicating that the center would be open part-time during the week, with Sundays reserved for church services.
The proposal reflects a broader vision of community engagement and support, aiming to enhance the quality of life for residents in Missouri County.
