During a recent government meeting, discussions centered around a request for a minor subdivision of a 4.2-acre property into two parcels: one of 3.2 acres and another of 1 acre. The request, which has already received preliminary approval, aims to facilitate the placement of a mobile home on the newly created one-acre lot. However, officials clarified that the subdivision does not include a zoning change necessary for the mobile home, which must be addressed in a separate meeting.
Commissioner McInnis noted the presence of manufactured housing in the Lake Ramsey area and questioned whether the zoning should be finalized before proceeding with the subdivision. It was confirmed that the zoning process had already been initiated, although it remains unclear if it has been formally adopted by the council.
The meeting also highlighted the complexities of the subdivision, with Commissioner Troncoso raising concerns about the layout and access drive for the property. The access drive, which is 45 feet wide, was designed to navigate around a 50-foot no-cut buffer on one side of the property. The owner clarified that the additional 0.68 acres created in the subdivision would not be developed.
Ultimately, the commission moved to approve the subdivision request, with the understanding that the zoning for the mobile home would need to be addressed in a future meeting. The owner plans to follow up with officials to ensure all necessary processes are completed.
