During a recent government meeting, the Bondi Croft school administration introduced a new initiative to honor \"school health heroes,\" recognizing the vital contributions of staff and students to the health and well-being of the school community.
Miss Cohen led the recognition ceremony, highlighting the essential role of cafeteria staff in providing nutritious meals that support students' energy and focus. She acknowledged Miss Stephanie Shepherd, Miss Arna Schaffmers, and Miss Shawna Peterman for their dedication and care, noting that their efforts extend beyond meal preparation to creating a welcoming environment for students.
The meeting also honored the school nurse, Brandi, who was unable to attend due to a prior commitment. Cohen praised her for her compassionate care and commitment to both physical and emotional health, emphasizing her role in maintaining a safe learning environment.
In addition to staff, two students, Lincoln and Ariana Livario, were recognized for their healthy eating habits, serving as role models for their peers. Austin Medley, another student present at the meeting, received special recognition for his extraordinary act of donating bone marrow to his sister battling leukemia, showcasing remarkable selflessness and community spirit.
The initiative aims to celebrate the unsung heroes within the school, fostering a culture of health and wellness among students and staff alike.
