In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the ongoing hand recount for the razor-thin race for Commissioner of Public Lands. The recount was initiated due to the narrow margin separating the candidates, which has garnered significant attention statewide.

During the meeting, it was confirmed that the certification process is currently underway, with Thurston County having completed its recount earlier in the day. Notably, only one vote changed during this process, which was classified as an under vote for a candidate not in contention for the top two positions. As a result, there was no change in the standings for the leading candidates, Mr. Eptegrove and Ms. Pedersen.
