In a recent government meeting, the Seminole County Board approved a request to vacate an uncut portion of an unnamed public right-of-way located between two residential properties in Sanford, Florida. The request was made by property owners Kimberly Frank and Linda Van Martyr, who sought to incorporate the vacated land into their respective lots.
The right-of-way in question is recorded in plat book 3, page 87 of the public records of Seminole County. Frank, who owns lot 28 of M. M. Lord's first addition to Citrus Heights subdivision, expressed her surprise upon discovering the existence of a 20-foot right-of-way between her property and her neighbor's. She emphasized the importance of the vacate for her family's safety, particularly for her young grandchildren.
Both applicants provided letters of no objection from relevant utility companies, and the Public Works department indicated no objections to the request. The board confirmed that the petition complied with the Seminole County Land Development Code and Florida statutes.
After a brief discussion, the board unanimously voted in favor of adopting the resolution to vacate the right-of-way, allowing the applicants to proceed with their plans to enhance their properties. The meeting concluded without further public comments or inquiries.
