In a recent meeting of the school board, Superintendent Dr. Williston presented the latest state testing results from the South Carolina Department of Education for the 2023-2024 school year. The report highlighted notable growth in student achievement across various grade levels, with improvements observed in SC Ready scores for all but one grade level.

Dr. Williston emphasized the positive trend in student performance, particularly in mathematics and English language arts. A total of 52 students from Richland 1 achieved perfect scores in these subjects, with 47 excelling in math, three in English language arts, and two students achieving perfection in both areas. The superintendent congratulated these students for their outstanding accomplishments, underscoring the district's commitment to enhancing educational outcomes.

While acknowledging the progress made, Dr. Williston noted that there remains work to be done to further improve student achievement across the board.
