Oak Creek High celebrates historic athletic achievements including first female golfer to state tournament

In a vibrant gathering at the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, the Board Committee Meeting on December 9th, 2024, celebrated a remarkable fall season for student-athletes, showcasing their achievements and the dedication of coaches. The atmosphere buzzed with pride as the district highlighted significant milestones across various sports.

The evening kicked off with a heartfelt recap of the girls' volleyball team's impressive journey to the state tournament, marking their second appearance in three years. Under the guidance of Coach Wren, the team not only finished second in their conference but also delivered a stunning performance in the sectional finals against Franklin, a rival they had previously struggled against. The support from fans was palpable, with nearly 60 students traveling to Green Bay to cheer on their team.

The boys' cross country team also made history, clinching their first conference championship since 1996, a testament to their hard work and determination. Coach So to expressed pride in the athletes, particularly junior Jacob Baumann, who received all-conference recognition.

Soccer, too, shone brightly, with Coach Tuscano leading the boys to their third consecutive conference championship, achieving the most wins in school history. The team faced tough competition but demonstrated resilience throughout the season.

The meeting also spotlighted the boys' volleyball team, which reached the sectional finals for the first time in its eight-year history, a significant achievement for Coach Dooley and his players. The excitement continued as Hallie Keane was recognized as the first female golfer in school history to qualify for the state tournament, a milestone celebrated by her peers and coaches alike.

In addition to individual accolades, the meeting featured a college commitment day, where several athletes signed to continue their sports careers at the collegiate level. Notable commitments included Rosie Heidemann, the first female Division 1 lacrosse player from the school, and Kevin Wojakowski, who will play football at Eastern Michigan.
