Port St. Lucie residents are gearing up for the festive season as the City Council announced the launch of the "PSL in Lights" contest during their regular meeting on November 25, 2024. Melissa Eunice from the communications department encouraged residents to start decorating their homes with holiday lights and inflatables for a chance to win prizes. The contest aims to foster community spirit and celebrate the holiday season.

In addition to the contest, the city will illuminate the Port District with a walking trail of holiday lights starting November 29. This event will stretch from the Botanical Gardens to the event lawn, providing a festive destination for families and visitors.

The meeting also addressed procedural changes, including the addition of agenda items and the tabling of several discussions. City Attorney representatives requested to postpone items 10 c and 10 d to the January 27 meeting due to public concerns raised prior to the meeting. This decision was made to ensure thorough legal review and to address community feedback adequately.

Residents were reminded that while they could voice their opinions during the public comment section, the specific discussions regarding the Ravello PUD application would not be officially heard until the January meeting. This approach aims to ensure that all concerns are properly documented and considered in future discussions.
