In a remarkable display of teamwork and quick response, emergency services in Molino successfully revived a patient who suffered a cardiac arrest during a fall festival on October 31, 2023.
Engine 18's crew, stationed nearby, witnessed the incident and immediately sprang into action, initiating CPR and calling for additional support from EMS and Engine 4, which is equipped with advanced life support capabilities. The firefighters from Engine 18 defibrillated the patient three times before Engine 4 arrived on the scene.
Upon arrival, Engine 4's paramedic team took over, with Engine 18 assisting in medication administration, continuing CPR, and providing ventilatory support. Thanks to their swift and coordinated efforts, the patient regained a pulse and stabilized with a measurable blood pressure before being transported to the hospital.
The incident highlights the critical role of first responders in emergency situations and underscores the importance of rapid intervention in saving lives.
