Lawrenceville declares itself Christmas capital of Gwinnett County amid festive celebrations

The Lawrenceville City Council held its regular meeting on December 11, 2024, where members celebrated the holiday season and recognized various community achievements. Mayor Pro Tem Marlene Taylor Crawford was commended for her successful year in office, and the council expressed anticipation for the appointment of the next mayor pro tem.

Additionally, staff members Lindsey Broom and Madison Smith were acknowledged for their inclusion in the Gwinnett Chamber's 35135 list, while Jasmine Billings, the community and economic development director, received the Community Partner of the Year award from Explorer Gwinnett.

The meeting also included information about upcoming community events, such as a public works drive on December 17 and a blood drive on December 19. The council reminded residents of the next city council work session scheduled for January 15, 2025, and the following council meeting on January 29, 2025.
