During the December 19 business session, Superintendent Jared D. reported that a survey of approximately 1,100 certified staff revealed a striking 92% opposition to the merit pay system, which was designed to incentivize teacher performance.

Superintendent D. emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive school culture, stating, "This type of program takes the humanity out of teaching." He shared insights from over 50 pages of comments received from staff, highlighting concerns that merit pay could lead to a focus on test scores over student growth, creating a stressful environment for both teachers and students.
