This weekend marks the beginning of festive activities in Hubbardston, with the highly anticipated Life Flight event kicking off on December 6. Residents can look forward to a series of community events designed to celebrate the holiday season and engage local families.

The Life Flight event will run for the first three weekends of December, from Friday to Sunday, concluding on December 22. Participants can access a Google map and a paper listing of the event details, which will be available at the local gas station. Voting for the event will close on December 23, with winners announced shortly thereafter.

On Saturday, December 7, the community can enjoy two major fairs: the Gingerbread Fair at the church from 9 AM to 1 PM and the Christmas Fair at the senior center from 9 AM to 3 PM. Both events will feature local vendors, crafts, and festive treats, including a quilt raffle and various baked goods. Residents are encouraged to visit both fairs to support local artisans and enjoy the holiday spirit.

Additionally, a free concert featuring the Pioneer Valley Brass Quintet will take place at the church at 5:30 PM, providing an opportunity for families to enjoy live music together.

Looking ahead to December 14, families can participate in "Brunch with Santa" at the school from 10 AM to noon, with a $20 entry fee that includes food and crafts. Santa will also make special appearances around town on a fire truck, allowing children to see him up close. Residents must sign up by December 6 to have Santa visit their homes, and they are asked to bring a prepackaged toy for donation.

Later that evening, Santa will be available for free photos at the bandstand from 5 PM to 7 PM, hosted by the local Lions Club, which will also provide free coloring books for children.

As the holiday season progresses, the town will also prepare for the "Frozen Assets" contest starting in January, where residents can guess when an outhouse placed on a local pond will fall through the ice. This event aims to draw visitors to local shops during the slower winter months, encouraging community engagement and support for local businesses.
