Pascack Theater invites community to unique student-created play When This Is Over

In a vibrant gathering at the Pascack Valley Regional High School District Board Meeting on November 18, 2024, excitement filled the air as representatives from Pascack Theater extended a heartfelt invitation to board members for their upcoming fall play, "When This Is Over." Company managers Eti and Jesse shared the unique concept behind the production, which weaves together personal stories from students, reflecting on their lives and aspirations post-high school, including the impact of the pandemic.

The play, featuring nearly 100 students from both Pascack Hills and Pascack Valley, marks the first joint theater program between the two schools, fostering camaraderie and collaboration among the young performers. The show will run from November 21 to 23, with performances scheduled for 7 PM each night and a special matinee on Saturday at 2 PM. The enthusiasm was palpable as board members were encouraged to attend and engage with the students, who are eager to showcase their hard work.

The meeting also highlighted various student-led initiatives, including a blood drive organized by the Teeds Against Cancer Club in support of senior Jamie Brown, who is battling leukemia. This event, along with a sock drive by the Latino Hispanic Heritage Club, underscores the students' commitment to community service and support for one another.

In addition to the arts and community service, the board discussed governance matters, including the development of a new orientation packet for board members to streamline procedures and enhance communication.
