Lathrop Senior Center to host free Christmas Day gathering with Santa and holiday activities

The Kettering City Council meeting on December 10, 2024, featured a presentation highlighting the upcoming Christmas Day gathering at the Charles Lathram Senior Center. Mayor Lehner welcomed the speaker, who emphasized the spirit of the season as one of gratitude and community.

The Christmas Day event will take place from 11 AM to 2 PM at the center, located at 29100 Glengarry Drive, adjacent to the Kettering Recreation Center. The venue was chosen for its ample free parking, accessibility via RTA route 28, and facilities that cater to all attendees. The event promises a hot meal, sweet treats, holiday music, activities for all ages, and a visit from Santa Claus, who will be available for photos.

This year marks the second annual event, which remains free for the community, thanks to the support of Day Air Credit Union and numerous volunteers. The speaker encouraged community members to participate, whether by attending or volunteering, and provided information on how to get involved through the volunteer office or the city’s events page.
