Lafourche Parish Council has approved a $10,000 funding request to support the Louisiana Girls Leadership Academy (LGLA), a program aimed at empowering young women through leadership training and community engagement. Risa Stell Phillips, a student from Mount Carmel Academy and a participant in LGLA since 2021, spoke passionately about her experiences in the program.
