Mulder said the tenant is eager to begin and expects the work to be completed sooner.

Commissioners spoke in favor of the grant as a way to enliven the shopping center and to complement nearby improvements. Commissioner Sigerson Eaton said she welcomed the investment and anticipated shoppers would browse the store and visit neighboring businesses. “This is just fantastic to see some business is coming in and enlivening the shopping center,” she said.

Commissioner Perkins asked why the grant agreement text included the CRA office address (a line she read aloud referencing “Florida statue 501, Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Pompano Beach, Florida”); Mulder explained that line simply lists the CRA office address in the agreement.
