Annapolis Council unveils SpeakFully anonymous reporting tool for city employees

The City Council of Indianapolis convened on January 29, 2025, to discuss a significant update regarding the newly implemented anonymous reporting tool, SpeakFully, designed for city and county employees. The meeting, led by the investigative committee, featured presentations from Tijuana Ellis, the Director of the Office of Human Resources, and Bridal Beeler from the Office of Corporation Counsel.

SpeakFully, launched in October 2024, aims to enhance workplace reporting by allowing employees to report concerns anonymously while still receiving updates on their cases. The platform, developed by HR Acuity, includes features such as a 24/7 hotline, interpreter support in multiple languages, and online reporting accessible via QR codes. Ellis emphasized the importance of this tool in fostering a safe and transparent work environment.

Since its rollout, the system has already received 13 workplace-related concerns, indicating an active engagement from employees. Ellis noted that the previous temporary reporting form will be discontinued on February 1, redirecting users to SpeakFully for all future reports. The initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that employees are informed and supported in voicing their concerns.

The council members expressed their support for the tool, recognizing its potential to improve workplace culture and accountability. As the city continues to promote SpeakFully through newsletters and intranet communications, the council anticipates that this initiative will lead to increased reporting and ultimately a healthier work environment for all city and county employees.
