Irondale Building Official announces 300 new homes and thriving commercial developments

Building Official, who has served for five years, shared insights into the progress made in the city, particularly in the areas of property maintenance, zoning, and stormwater management.

One of the most notable achievements is the opening of the Cahaba Crossing Shopping Center, which marks the return of a grocery store to Irondale after 16 years. This center has become a bustling hub, attracting over 45,000 visitors weekly and paving the way for additional retail opportunities. In addition to the shopping center, a new multi-use complex is under construction on Crestwood Boulevard, featuring 39 retail units.
