Kennett High School midterms begin as students excel in sports and fundraising efforts

Kennett Consolidated School District is making significant strides as it approaches the midpoint of the academic year, with midterm testing scheduled for this week and promising performances from its sports teams. The Kennett ice hockey team boasts an impressive record of 8 wins and 3 losses, while the boys basketball team has achieved its best start in years at 7 wins and 7 losses. Additionally, the district recently held a successful blood drive, collecting donations from 42 participants.

In a notable initiative, planning for the annual Mini-THON is underway, aiming to raise $50,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund, which supports pediatric cancer patients. This event, set for February 26, follows last year's successful fundraising of $38,000. The district is also gearing up for a faculty versus Harlem Wizards basketball game on April 5, with proceeds benefiting the same cause.
