The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District celebrated a remarkable fall athletic season during its November work session, highlighting significant achievements across various sports and activities.
With 695 athletes participating, the district's fall sports program showcased impressive talent, including a standout performance from the middle school boys cross country team, which clinched the county championship. The UHS girls volleyball team also made headlines by winning the PIAA District 1 championship, a notable feat in one of Pennsylvania's most competitive regions.
In cross country, individual runners Drew Stanzik and Ryder McGlynn qualified for the state meet, while the UHS girls team finished tenth overall. Senior Erin Rapin earned a commendable fourteenth place in the state, underscoring the team's strong performance.
Golfers Charlie Barrickman and Michael Keller also represented the district at the state level, adding to the season's accolades. The UHS marching band capped off the celebrations by finishing first in the state championship for Pennsylvania's group 4 division, which earned them a spot at the national championship at MetLife Stadium, where they secured third place.
These achievements not only highlight the athletic prowess of UCFSD students but also foster a sense of pride within the community. The district plans to continue sharing updates on student activities, with another quarterly report expected in the coming months.
