The Rockwall Parks and Recreation Board reported a record turnout for its recent Daddy-Daughter Dance, with 850 registrants, marking the highest participation ever. The event's popularity continues to grow, prompting plans to increase capacity for next year.
In addition to the dance, the board shared updates on the Rockwall Baseball and Softball League (RBSL), which concluded its registration with 1,311 participants in the draft league and 12 select teams. This participation level aligns with previous years, although the board noted challenges in providing adequate practice slots due to high demand. Efforts are underway to enhance the experience for players by maximizing playtime and ensuring sufficient practice opportunities.
Looking ahead, the Parks and Recreation Board is preparing for several upcoming events, including spring break camps and an Easter extravaganza on April 12. A special needs Easter egg hunt is also scheduled for April 5, designed to be accessible for all children.
The board is also gearing up for Founders Day, featuring country music star Josh Turner as the headliner, with additional acts to be announced soon. These initiatives reflect the board's commitment to fostering community engagement and providing quality recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.
