Bucks County Commissioners celebrated significant milestones at their December 18, 2024 meeting, highlighting employee achievements and community support for veterans.

Monica Russo from Adult Probation was honored for her 20 years of service, alongside other long-serving employees from various departments. The recognition of dedicated staff underscored the county's commitment to its workforce.

In a notable moment, Bucks County received the prestigious 7 Seals Award, presented by Paul Vazetti, a retired Air Force colonel. This award recognizes employers who excel in supporting military personnel, particularly those in the National Guard and Reserves. Matt Allen, the county's Director of Veterans Affairs, shared his experiences and the county's ongoing support for employees who serve in the military. He emphasized the importance of balancing work, family, and military duties, stating, "Without your support... he would not be able to contribute to national security."

The county is one of only 30 organizations in Pennsylvania to receive this honor, distinguishing it among the 66 counties in the state. Vazetti praised the county for its exemplary support of service members, highlighting the critical role such recognition plays in fostering a supportive work environment for those who serve.

The meeting also included a brief agenda adjustment regarding a contract for body-worn cameras for the sheriff's department, ensuring transparency and accuracy in county operations.
