Dominion Energy moves forward with 3 phase power installation in Middlesex County

During the recent Middlesex County Board of Supervisors meeting on February 4, 2025, significant progress was reported on local infrastructure projects, highlighting the county's commitment to enhancing community services and safety.

Dominion Energy is set to begin the installation of three-phase power, following the signing of an underground agreement by residents. This development comes after previous delays, which were addressed through proactive communication from Supervisor Walker. The timely installation is expected to benefit local businesses and residents by improving energy reliability.

Additionally, the HRSD pump station is anticipated to become operational this week. Although the station's activation was not urgently needed, its readiness will facilitate essential services, including those of the sheriff's office. The project is nearing completion, with approximately 76% of the $3.52 million contract billed, indicating steady progress despite minor delays.

The Board also approved two change orders totaling $23,750 related to pavement transitions and storage room access at the Sally Port. This decision reflects the Board's ongoing efforts to ensure that infrastructure meets the needs of the community.

In further updates, VDOT representative Mr. McKnight provided insights into upcoming construction projects. Notable initiatives include the Route 333 and 626 intersection improvement, scheduled to start in December 2026, aimed at enhancing safety with the addition of a left turn lane. The shared-use path in Deltaville is also on track, with a public hearing planned for June 2025, paving the way for construction in 2026.

Other projects highlighted include the replacement of the Route 17 northbound bridge over Dragon Run, expected to commence in early 2026, and a pipe replacement on Bob's Hole Road, set to begin this month.
