Brigham City Council swears in new SWAT paramedic Scott Best

Brigham City welcomed a new addition to its emergency response team during the City Council meeting on February 6, 2025, as SWAT paramedic Scott Best was officially sworn in. Chief Mejaz highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting the strong partnership between the police and fire departments. Best recently completed the law enforcement academy, earning certification as a law enforcement officer to serve on the SWAT team, enhancing the safety and preparedness of the unit.

The swearing-in ceremony included a badge pinning, symbolizing the responsibilities Best will undertake in his new role. Chief Mejaz expressed gratitude for Best's commitment to public service, emphasizing the comfort his training brings to the SWAT team.

In addition to the swearing-in, the meeting featured a prayer led by Bishop Mark Wilcox, setting a positive tone for the evening.
