Pinellas County details final phase of Forest Lakes Boulevard improvements project

Residents of Pinellas County gathered virtually for the Forest Lakes Boulevard Roadway Improvements Project Phase III meeting, where officials outlined the final steps in a significant infrastructure upgrade. Hosted by Tony Fabrizio from Pinellas County Communications, the meeting aimed to inform the community about the project’s progress and address any questions from the public.

Mona Gabriel, the director of the capital improvements division, emphasized the importance of this project, which will widen Forest Lakes Boulevard from Race Track Road to State Road 580. This final phase will connect with the previously completed sections, enhancing the roadway to four lanes. Gabriel highlighted that Forest Lakes Boulevard serves as a vital corridor linking Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties, catering to a diverse range of users, including commuters, transit riders, families, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The meeting included a presentation by consultant project manager Brian Anderson, who provided detailed insights into the project’s history and future implications. Following the presentation, attendees were invited to participate in a Q&A session, allowing residents to voice their concerns and seek clarification on the project.

This roadway improvement is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow and safety for all users, reflecting the county's commitment to improving infrastructure and supporting community needs.
