Chowchilla City Council approves ice cream truck regulations for residential zones

Following this, the council reviewed another ordinance amending Chapter 18.56 concerning signs and outdoor advertising structures. This amendment seeks to update regulations for highway-oriented signage and shopping center signs. The proposed changes include increased flexibility for sign dimensions and heights in specific areas of the city, particularly near State Route 99, to attract drivers to local businesses. The council also established new standards for shopping center signage, requiring a master sign program for developments with more than six establishments. After a public hearing with no audience participation, the council voted to approve the introduction of this ordinance as well.

In the new business section, the council considered a resolution to approve a deferred improvement agreement with the Chowchilla Union High School District regarding the Chowchilla High School Transportation Center. This item has been under discussion for some time, reflecting ongoing collaboration between the city and the school district.
