The Fort Thomas community celebrated recent achievements in the arts as local playwrights garnered accolades at the Kentucky Theater Association's Roots of Bluegrass competition. Notably, resident Terry Folkes secured first prize for his one-act play, while Brooke Hooky Forbes also claimed first prize for her original ten-minute play. Additionally, Bill Grohock from nearby Union earned second place in the same category.
These talented individuals will be showcased in the upcoming main stage production titled "Holidays 2," which features a collection of ten short plays. The production is set to run from December 6 to December 15, with performances scheduled for the first two weekends of December. Tickets can be purchased through the Village Players' website.
In addition to the theatrical festivities, the Village Players are excited to invite the Fort Thomas community to their holiday walk, where attendees can participate in a special event with Mrs. Claus, who will be collecting letters to Santa.
This celebration of local talent not only highlights the creative spirit of Fort Thomas but also fosters community engagement through the arts, providing residents with opportunities to support and enjoy local performances.
