Leesburg invests $300K to improve homes for low-income residents

The City of Leesburg is set to enhance the living conditions of its residents following a successful housing improvement initiative that focused on 12 homes in need of urgent repairs. During the February 10, 2025, City Commission meeting, officials reported that the program, which received $300,000 in funding, was completed under budget at $293,618, averaging approximately $20,468 per home.

The initiative, which has been in operation for over 20 years, aimed to address critical health and safety issues, energy efficiency improvements, and cosmetic upgrades. The homes targeted for renovation faced a range of problems, including faulty roofs, plumbing issues, and poor indoor air quality.
