Carver Elementary honors Ms. Morgan Huggins for exceptional teaching and student engagement

During the recent Wendell Board Meeting on February 10, 2025, the Town Council honored Ms. Morgan Huggins, a third-grade teacher at Carver Elementary School, for her exceptional contributions to education and her students' success.

Ms. Huggins, who joined Carver Elementary in 2021 after relocating from Denver, Colorado, has quickly made a significant impact in her role. Her dedication to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment has not only inspired her students but also earned her recognition for outstanding student growth in reading, placing her among the top 25% of teachers in the district and state. Last year, an impressive 71 of her students passed the math End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments, surpassing both district and state averages.

Colleagues praised Ms. Huggins for her ability to build strong relationships with her students and her commitment to differentiated instruction, ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met. Her classroom is described as warm and inviting, where students are encouraged to embrace challenges and develop critical thinking skills.
