Montrose officials prepare for severe fire season amid drought concerns

Montezuma County officials are gearing up for a challenging fire season as discussions during the January 10, 2025, Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) workshop highlighted the urgent need for preparedness amid worsening drought conditions. Vicki Pierce announced that the county would receive an additional $76,000 grant to support medication costs and crisis intervention services.
