Corona begins South Mall parking lot revitalization project with R2Build

The City of Corona held a meeting on February 11, 2025, to discuss the ongoing construction of the South Mall parking lot located at the Southeast Corner of Main and 6th Streets. The project, awarded to R2Build in December, aims to revitalize the entire parking area and includes the replacement of the traffic light at Stan Parkway and Main Street.

The construction is expected to be completed by mid-summer, pending favorable conditions. The project marks a significant redevelopment effort in the city, with plans to convert the former 99¢ store and improve the parking layout, utilities, and lighting systems.

City officials expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its importance for the community. The senior construction inspector from Z and K Consultants, who is also a resident of Corona, shared excitement about the improvements being made to enhance the downtown area.

As the project progresses, it is anticipated to bring positive changes to the South Mall, contributing to the overall development and revitalization of Downtown Corona.
