Local School District establishes unique Orton Gillingham literacy academy for struggling readers

In the heart of New Canaan, a transformative initiative is taking shape within the local education system, aimed at empowering young learners. During a recent Board of Finance meeting, the spotlight turned to the Literacy Academy, a program designed to support elementary students struggling with reading.

The Literacy Academy, implemented across all three elementary schools in New Canaan, is overseen by a dedicated coordinator who ensures that the program meets the specific needs of its students.
