This change addresses safety concerns, as the previous sign was deemed unsafe. The applicant confirmed that the new sign would be smaller and securely attached to the building.
In addition to the Studio W signage, the commission approved two wall signs for Kinsdale Dental Journey and Studio Giuseppe at 5 West Second Street. The signs will replace temporary banners that had been in place for an extended period, with commissioners expressing satisfaction over the removal of non-compliant signage.
Lastly, a proposal for a wall sign for Coastal Bay Seafoods at 12 Grama Square was also discussed. The sign will feature halo-illuminated letters to clearly convey the business's identity, ensuring that potential customers understand it is a seafood establishment.
The approvals reflect the commission's commitment to enhancing the visual appeal of Hinsdale's downtown while supporting local businesses. With these new signs, the village anticipates a boost in both aesthetics and commerce in the area.
