Cobb County opens bids for inmate medical and mental health services

Cobb County is taking significant steps to enhance inmate healthcare services following the bid opening held on February 13, 2025. During the meeting, Daryl McCook, representing the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, announced the opening of eight bids for various services, with a primary focus on inmate medical and mental health services.

The first bid, which had been postponed from January 23, was for a total of $2,568.69. McCook detailed the submissions from several vendors, including Armor Health, CHS Georgia LLC, Correct Health, First Class Healthcare, Medeco Correctional Healthcare, NAP Care, TK Health, TLC Nursing Associates, VitalCore Health Strategies, WellPath, LLC, and Wexford Health Sources, Incorporated. Each of these companies submitted proposals aimed at providing essential healthcare services to inmates, highlighting the county's commitment to improving health outcomes within the correctional system.

In addition to the inmate healthcare bids, the meeting also included discussions on an ITB for the Waterford Stewart upgrade, indicating ongoing infrastructure improvements within the county. The requirement for a bid bond was noted, ensuring that all participating vendors meet financial obligations.
