The Menomonee Falls Village Board held a regular meeting on February 17, 2025, where key discussions centered around the upcoming reconstruction of Menomonee Avenue, presented by Tom Hoffman, the director of engineering and development.
Hoffman began by acknowledging National Engineers Week and proceeded to provide an update on the Menomonee Avenue project, which will reconstruct the road from Town Hall Road to Appleton Avenue. He emphasized that despite recent snowfall, preparations for the construction season are underway, with significant activity already visible in the area.

Westbound traffic will remain on Menomonee Avenue throughout the construction due to its designation as an ambulance route to the nearby hospital. Eastbound drivers will be redirected via Town Hall Road to Main Street and then to Appleton Avenue.
Hoffman assured that access to local businesses and residences will be maintained, although there may be temporary disruptions when work occurs directly in front of driveways. Residents will receive 72 hours' notice before access is blocked.
The reconstruction will slightly narrow the road on the south side while maintaining two travel lanes, parking on the north side, and sidewalks on both sides. Bump-outs will be added at key intersections to enhance pedestrian safety.
Hoffman reported that the project was bid in November 2024, with Super Western as the selected contractor. The project is funded primarily by the Department of Transportation (DOT), which is overseeing the work. Utility companies are currently relocating their services, with a deadline of April 1 to clear the area for construction.
The construction is set to begin in early April, weather permitting, with the first task being the installation of a box culvert near Kiwanis Park. The project is expected to last throughout the summer, with a completion target set for the second week of November 2025.
In closing, Hoffman reassured the board that communication with local stakeholders, including the hospital, is ongoing to ensure minimal disruption during the construction process. The meeting concluded with a reminder to acknowledge engineers during their designated week.
