Ruffini also said the commission approved three residential demolitions in 2024 with the condition that replacement houses be built substantially identical to the originals; one exception involved an institutional structure near Morse Library where no replacement was proposed. In one approved rebuild on Park Avenue the commission allowed an attached garage at the rear of the house that had not been part of the prior structure.

The commission is seeking grant funding to update design guidelines last printed in 1997; members aim to produce a version available in English and Spanish. The report projects the debt service levy to increase by about $545,000 from 2025 to 2026 and to rise similarly over the next two years before stabilizing under the current CIP.

Johnson also noted the city remains well within statutory debt capacity: the presale analysis projects outstanding general obligation debt at substantially less than the state-imposed limit (a 5% limit on equalized value), leaving the city with tens of millions of dollars of capacity over the near term.
