Dallas DART reports 83% of pre-pandemic ridership boosted by GoLink micro transit service

Dallas is making significant strides in enhancing its transportation network, with a focus on accessibility and connectivity. During a recent government meeting, officials highlighted the robust services provided by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system, which includes ADA paratransit services and a comprehensive network of light rail, commuter rail, and bus routes.

DART's extensive offerings feature 22 frequent bus routes operating every day, with service intervals of 10 to 15 minutes during peak hours. This ensures that residents can rely on public transport for their daily commutes, including those working non-traditional hours. The system also integrates local bus routes and express services, connecting Dallas to neighboring cities like Irving, Richardson, and Plano, which are vital for accessing job opportunities.

A standout feature of the DART network is the GoLink micro transit service, which provides on-demand rides and has become a key player in ridership, particularly within Dallas. Currently, DART's overall ridership is at approximately 83% of pre-pandemic levels, with 55.6 million rides recorded in fiscal year 2024. Notably, 52% of these rides are on the bus side, underscoring the importance of bus services in the overall transit system.

The meeting also addressed recent improvements in security and cleanliness across the transit network, including the addition of 100 uniformed security officers to enhance safety for passengers. As DART continues to expand its services and improve its infrastructure, the focus remains on providing reliable and accessible transportation options for all residents in the Dallas area.
