Community urges board to address safety concerns at local shooting range

Mark Terry, a property owner on Fawcett Lane, passionately urged the board to address the safety issues posed by the range, which he described as a significant threat to nearby homes.

Terry highlighted the stark contrast between the local range and a professional facility he frequents in Samora, emphasizing the lack of safety measures at the Fawcett Lane location. He pointed out that the targets are set at the top of a 16 to 18-foot berm, creating a dangerous situation where bullets could easily leave the range. "You have a very small margin of error," he warned, stressing the potential risks to the community.

Residents have been living in fear, with Terry noting that many worry about stray bullets. He called on the commissioners to take action, stating, "You are the only ones that can do something. It needs to be investigated." He invited board members to visit the area during peak shooting times to witness the situation firsthand.
