Route 47 Wings and Tavern seeks liquor license approval in Sugar Grove

A new dining option is on the horizon for Sugar Grove, as Route 47 Wings and Tavern seeks approval for an on-premises liquor license. The proposed establishment, located at 519 Sugar Grove Parkway, aims to fill a gap in the local dining scene by offering a wing-focused menu, akin to a Wingstop, but without the franchise ties.

During the Village of Sugar Grove Board Meeting on February 19, 2025, Michael, representing the business, outlined the significant progress made on the tavern's build-out. Improvements include essential plumbing, electrical work, and the installation of two bathrooms. The owner, Jake Patel, is committed to completing the space, which will feature a dining area, kitchen, bar, and a video gaming room, ensuring that patrons will not have to pass through the gaming area to access other parts of the venue.

Board members engaged in discussions about the layout and seating arrangements, with suggestions made to optimize space for more tables. Patel expressed flexibility in adjusting the floor plan to enhance customer seating capacity.

The tavern's concept also includes the potential for customers to order food from nearby restaurants, such as Subway and Cilantro, which could be delivered to the tavern. This idea aims to cater to diverse dining preferences, particularly for families with picky eaters.

As the board considers the liquor license application, the establishment's focus on responsible service and community integration stands out.
