Mountain View Council reaffirms strategic priorities and discusses fossil fuel reduction projects

Concerns over rising greenhouse gas emissions took center stage at the February 25, 2025, Joint Meeting of the Mountain View City Council and Shoreline Regional Park Community. With emissions reportedly at their highest since before the pandemic, community members urged immediate action to reduce reliance on natural gas, which they labeled harmful to both health and the environment.

"Planning a long term locally and collectively with other Bay Areas is the key to keeping our community and our future healthy," they stated.

The council also reaffirmed its strategic priorities, which were initially adopted as part of a comprehensive planning process. Council Member Ramirez moved to reaffirm these priorities, which passed unanimously. This decision sets the stage for upcoming work plan projects aimed at addressing community needs and environmental concerns.
