During the Plainview Independent School District (PISD) Regular Board Meeting held on December 19, 2024, several noteworthy achievements by students were highlighted, showcasing the district's commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence.

The meeting began with a celebration of student accomplishments in athletics and academics. Notably, several students were recognized for their achievements in volleyball. Among them, one student made the second team for the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State and was also an honorable mention. This student recently signed with Eastern New Mexico University, marking a significant milestone in her athletic career.

Camila Marcelo was also acknowledged for her achievements, having earned a spot on the Academic All-State second team and being selected for the All District first team. Brooke Veil received recognition as an Academic All-State first team member and was named to the All District second team. Other students, including Brianna Gill and Ailey Kurbo, were honored with honorable mentions for their contributions to the volleyball district team.

The meeting also featured a presentation from the NJROTC program at PHS High School, led by Brad Brantley. The program received a commendation for its outstanding performance, with Brantley explaining the rigorous standards required to achieve such recognition.
