The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) has reported a record-breaking mid-year donation to Indian Prairie CUSD 204, marking the largest single-semester contribution in the last decade. Dr. Trudy Ransom, Executive Director of IPEF, presented the foundation's achievements and future initiatives during the Board of Education meeting on February 24, 2025.
Since its inception in 1988, IPEF has remained committed to enhancing educational experiences for all students in the district. This year, the foundation has focused on supporting various programs, including the RISE after-school initiative, which benefits low-income students across multiple elementary and middle schools. Funded by a substantial grant from the Illinois State Board of Education, these programs include mentoring and reading interventions, providing essential support to students in need.

The foundation also celebrated its A Plus Award program, recognizing outstanding educators across the district.
A highlight of the meeting was the announcement of the cardiac screenings program, which has screened over 44,000 high school students since its launch in 2008. This year alone, 36 students were flagged for further medical review, demonstrating the program's critical role in student health and safety.
Looking ahead, IPEF is gearing up for its upcoming Inspire event, which will take place in a new breakfast format to encourage broader community participation. The foundation continues to emphasize the importance of community involvement in supporting educational initiatives, reflecting its mission to enrich the lives of students in Indian Prairie CUSD 204.
